Legal Requirements Under the Health and Safety act 1974 it is a legal requirement for employers to protect the health, safety and welfare of their employees and non-employees who use their facilities.

The Health and Safety (First Aid) Regulations 1981 place a duty upon employers to provide adequate, facilities and personnel to render first aid to their employees if they are injured or become ill at work.

The management of the Health and Safety at work Regulations 1992 requires employers to make a suitable and sufficient assessment of the risks to health and safety of all employees. This assessment will include an assessment of First Aid needs.

A first aid training course can provide you with the knowledge and skills to deal with a variety of medical scenarios. Many companies choose to train their staff in first aid in order to bring a higher level of safety to the workplace.
